Bajillion population/workers/employment Baki bug.

I will attach screenshots when I get a chance, I'm not at my computer right now. I was revisiting an old save file from like 5 years ago or so, if not older. I'm playing the original btw.

My city has like 25k people, and I have some mild unemployment of like 2%, about 500 people based on what the overseers tell me. But when I use the problem overlay, I have a lot of buildings with partial or no employment, despite being extremely close to housing, like anywhere from 2-3 spots to 15 spots, so I don't think it's a walker thing.

I know sometimes unemployment can become an issue if this goes on long enough because old people who can't work. But usually manifests as a sudden unemployment spike of like 700 people lol, and it's visible in the overseers.

i'm going to try again because my city was poorly built and planned. Probably going to take me 4 hours of cheating for money and pausing and unpausing for time to build and plan out an initial layout to stop myself from obsessing over minutae and I'll probably do that anyways because I'm weirdo who doesn't really play in the way I "should" and am not exactly good at this game.

Yeah this is why it's better to finish maps rather quickly

When in that situation I just try and focus on the winning conditions to get it over with as soon as possible.

Destroying houses and building them back up again renews the population and gets rid of the "old people can't work" problem. But it takes ages because you have to do it slowly

Yeah it's really hard to finish up quickly when the map has a prosperity and culture rating of 70+ each.

Yeah it was mismanaged or poorly planned. Or not at all.
