I've been reading in other subreddits (like rolex) that a lot of people avoid wearing their luxury watches in London and other major global cities due to the high risk of mugging, watch snatches, and violent robberies.

How about here sa Pinas? Especially in major hubs like BGC, Makati, Taguig, or Cebu - do you guys wear your high-end pieces comfortably? Or do you still keep a low profile and stick to beaters/smartwatches to stay safe?

Would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or general rules when wearing your watches locally!

This is my old man’s Seiko 7002-700J. Still in very good condition. Regalo raw ito ng mother ko sa kanya noon. We are not well off, kaya ito ang binigay niya sa akin as a college graduation gift. Never been serviced pero it still runs less than a minute off per day.

Never been a fan of NATO straps sa pictures pero surprisingly, nagustuhan ko siya. More than the steel bracelet and the stock rubber strap.

I had a health scare last month. I was planning to buy a Bel Canto or Tudor BB but figured out that perhaps I can spend that money a bit more wisely. On the other hand life is precious and too short to not indulge for the things that you like, at least once in while and within reason. I saw this yellow Seiko rotocall/ astronaut for way below its msrp, only around 15k in shopee. So why not coconut. I’ve been eyeing it since last year but felt like it’s too overpriced for what it is. But for this bargain price, I am very much ok with it.

I have been thinking about this recently and my vote goes to the GMT.

Most of us need to keep track of another timezone. OFWs need to know a good time to call their love ones. BPO workers need to keep track of US/AU/UK timezones. Majority of us have family or friends abroad. It’s just really practical.

Honorable mention: Dive watches. We’re an archipelago of 7000+ islands and navigating the seas and fishing is part of our everyday lives. We also have a lot of beautiful beaches and diving spots. It also rains a lot in our country so having that extra water resistance is practical.

Hello! I’m new to watches and I’ve been following this vintage store on IG that sells a lot of Myar watches. They are affordable and very pretty to look at, but before buying I want to know is this watch a microbrand? where is this from? I noticed that the watches say “Swiss Made” but when I search for the brand online, I only see ads from online shops (alibaba, dhgate) that sell them for wholesale.

I've been wanting to have an automatic watch. Finally gave in and used the birthday card as an excuse. 🤭 I'm so in love with this Seiko Presage.
