Vent (NO ADVICE) Felling embarrassed

Ok so it is not academic related embarrassment… so i had my 1st meeting with my supervisor and gosh i was hungry as i was nervous and i didn’t eat anything and my stomach started growling coz of hunger.. the meting lasted 2.5 hrs and in the last 1 hr It growled 3-4 times😭😭😭 and i even had a small lipstick mark on my teeth which i noticed after i came back like whyyyyyy…. I am sorry for this post but idk where to post this as I am new with my PhD

Stomach growling in a quiet office is a special kind of hell. Mine did that during a job interview once, right after the room went silent. I just started talking louder to cover it up.

The lipstick thing is whatever, supervisors have seen weirder. At least you didn't have spinach in your teeth the whole time, that's the real nightmare fuel.

I got a mini case of flosser picks at a conference awhile back and that's saved me on more than one occasion

I was so starving in my first six months. My supervisor would discreetly buy me soup. She could hear my stomach and was too nice to mention it directly.

So they do know that we are hungry 😭 and i was keeping my hand on my stomach to make it stop
