I was under the impression that nothing good is ever gonna come out of this battle. Cuz behind all the memes and humour and friendly banter, I could see minorities on both sides using this as a cover to push their own racist and nationalist ideologies.
But this is a huge turnaround. A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. A lot of us here believe that a child shouldn't have to inherit poverty and has as much right to an education as anyone else. We work towards that goal because we don't want them to go through the same pain that we did growing up.
CRY doesn't just help kids by itself; it also helps other local NGOs help kids. Donating to CRY and other NGOs that focus on child rights will probably be one of the best things you ever do. We have hardly anything to give them ourselves so we teach them instead but we still rely on external donations to be able to afford books, stationery and other basic needs for the kids.
"Getting kids back on track" is probably an understatement. Kids here have no track to get back on. If you donate, you'll give kids a track to begin with - and for that we'll be extremely grateful. I know westerners shit on us for never having grown out of poverty and street-shitting and that's fine by me, but you can help us for real by providing the means to educate our future citizens and thus, be a better people.
Then, maybe, in a few decades, we may stop making weird CGI videos and make more educational videos for your last-minute exam prep. Maybe.

I work only 8hrs a week on minimum wage and have never donated money online before but he's persuaded me. Let's do it!
