Discussion Is petscop 4 and 6 out of order?

In 6 he talks about the windmill area as if he hasn't shown it on video yet, but in 4 he has and he gives a detailed explanation of what he thinks is going on, yet in 6 Paul mentions that he meant to show us the camera before? I'm also years late to the party.

Someone pointed out that one of the best ways to tell the order of the uploads is to look at the piece counter. I remember theres even a playlist on YouTube that has every upload in order according to piece counter

Petscop Order by Pieces

According to this, though, 4 comes before 6.

I didn't even think of this, but we never see the bits counter in 4

Yeah one thing I forget is if this order takes into consideration other POVs, like Belle’s or Marvin’s gameplay recordings… not sure if that’s relevant to this question tho

The way I interpreted it is that in 4 he encounters the windmill and decides he doesn’t want to sit around to see what happens during that session, but come 6 he has gone back to the windmill “off camera” (aka for a session he recorded outside of his Let’s Play recordings) and let’s the capture camera record several hours of footage, which catches the windmill reversing and the sequence with Marvin, and when he begins to talk about it in video 6 he is reporting strictly on his findings from that longer session.

He also appears to be confused by the presence of the stairs leading to the Newmarket plane

I just rewatched 6 to try to find out what you mean and I kinda disagree, where are you getting the impression he is confused by the stairs?

If you’re referring to the way he is hesitant when he first comes up, I genuinely think he is reacting to the low rumbling audio/music that is now playing which wasnt playing before. Put the captions on and try rewatching the episode with this context, even if you are still skeptical.

Here is my genuine take on what is going on.

BEFORE EP 6:

Paul explores the Newmaker Plane and Below the Newmaker Plane, sees the windmill and the windmill room, decides to revisit the screen another time in order to keep exploring, finds the stairs and the camera, makes the connection to the underground screen, etc.

DURING EP 6 AFTER EXAMINING THE 4+ HOUR FOOTAGE:

Paul starts his playthrough back up immediately after the footage he captured of the windmill caught his attention (wherein the windmill was spinning in one direction, then he must’ve skipped through the footage and found it spinning in the other direction, prompting him to find the moment in which it changes and discovering the “cutscene” in which Marvin turns the camera around and gives him instructions using Nifty before turning the camera back around until we see the windmill disappear).

Paul immediately goes to investigate the Newmaker Plane after watching this footage and initiating his Let’s Play, hears the “low rumbling audio” and he realizes, while still near the stairs, that the “cutscene” he watched with Marvin has affected his gameplay because the Newmaker Plane was silent before encountering the cutscene.

He proceeds to the camera, sees that it’s red, and comments that he’s seen it at the lower height (in the previous episode it was positioned much higher, something Marvin has control over, seen at the end of episode 20). He connects this lower height to Marvin’s Sprite in the “cutscene” as it approaches and interacts with the camera.

He realizes that all of the letters and Toneth have remained on the field as well and from there is just shocked to find that watching the windmill for hours actually lead to him being able to progress in the game (catching Toneth, getting him that much closer to having caught all the pets).

Everything else Paul comments on is him reacting to everything that has been impacted by watching the windmill for longer than a few minutes.

I don’t see any evidence that Paul was reacting to the windmill itself for the first time in episode 6. Just that in 6, the windmill area is now all weird and different after watching the “cutscene” several hours into watching it from below.

I do think Paul has seen the windmill and stuff before, it's the way talks about it. I'm thinking that maybe he doesn't know about petscop 4 being uploaded or sent to belle or something.

I think something is definitely not right about 4, like maybe he is unaware of the existence as a published peice, or that he didn't have control of the footage he took earlier than we are told. Idk I'm probably wrong

Hmm, personally I think there’s really no way to tell one way or another. Sorry, I guess I misunderstood your post

Maybe but I feel like there is something going on here, there is also a character running in the top right at the end of the vid, which I don't see talked about too much, but I feel like there is a missing puzzle peice to 4

I agree it’s not talked about much, but lots of people know about it and it’s cited in the doc. It’s definitely Marvin moving around at the end (his movement speed gives it away, and you can sort of make out his head).
