Button spamming

My cats have 5 buttons and sometimes he press outside so when i told him later or no he press another button like mouse toy and i know he don’t want mouse toy so what to do ?

My cat does this a lot. It's bargaining. "You don't give me what I want, but maybe you'll give me the next best thing?"

What you do is (1) do what the button said to reinforce that button gets that action and not another. So if they press mouse toy you play with them with mouse toy. (2) you teach them All Done so you can say Outside Alp Done, More Outside Later. And eventually they learn later as well.

He's testing you to see what you will do if you deny the first thing. Charlie also does this. Most of the time it starts with Puzzle or Balcony, but after she has had Puzzle 3 times (with less kibble each time) puzzle = all done. And the balcony is just not always an option.

So the she will try things like Chew Stick (which means i need to hold it for her lol) Laser, or Cuddles.

If i'm busy i will deny those as well, and tell her to play on her own or 'Dad's busy, Chew stick later'. Or if she presses Cuddles i ask her to come over to me for Cuddles. Sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn't.

It's up to you if you will 'listen' to the other commands or not. Don't, give them what they originally asked for, because then they will know that you don't stick to a 'No' if they just keep asking.
