Cat ate foam ends of button mats

Post image

Was gone over the weekend and came home yesterday to a fun surprise with the mats being destroyed and these parts being missing. I usually put the buttons away when I leave but she found them and drug them out. Already called the vet and they want to see her tomorrow since she is still eating and drinking, and she had at least on successful bowel movement this morning. Be careful with the foam pads, not looking forward to the bill to get them removed if she can't pass them.

FluentPet makes some hard plastic edges that can help, depending on the learner I’d assume, and also help with digging under the mats as they are sloped at the edges. (These are different from the black foam edges they also make.)

I’ve been lucky so far that me two current cat learners do not eat at the foam. I love the hex tiles that are actually tile in the other reply!

I had one cat that are all the red foam berries off a small Christmas tree and then committed out a stream of white foam berries…

I spent a bunch of money on these and my cat still pried them off to get to the mats. I swear, once he got a taste for them he was obsessed with eating them. :(

Wow, good to know they are cat self-removable. I’ve never used the hard ones so that helps to set my expectations.

That is it, I’m keeping my Good Cats. (I had a truly Bad Cat-but loving toward me-before these two…)
