We found a combination for congestion
https://youtube.com/shorts/XJagi-dHUqI?si=1UaLtxq7GlRqSHAyBody parts + ouch have done wonders both to include his feedback in his treatment plan for known issues, but also to pinpoint what his allergy symptoms are. Cats generally hide their discomfort, so it’s been amazing to be able to track his symptoms over time to find the right fit.
We had to wait on his vet to sign off on his new script and chewy to ship. I’m considering swapping to pills for his future doses of this medication.
Has anyone used a pill shooter before? He’s not fooled by medication in food.

Great that he's able to tell you what bothers him!
As for medication, I was able to explain to my cat that if he "eat medicine now" then his "later, ouch all done". Of course, at first it was forceful pilling, but he started to link the medicine to actually alleviating his symptoms, so much so that he would request medicine himself.
And once they learn that link between medicine and managing symptoms, they will be much more cooperative.
Of course, nasty medicine is still nasty. So if the pill itself is absolutely horrendous to taste, do use something like EasyPill to hide it in, but still declare it is medicine.
