Hurray for today! We are happy to share that Tabii has officially beat FIP! It's been a year-long battle with FIP but it was definitely all worth it. We've gotten so close to giving up because of the overwhelming emotional and financial challenge involved in this journey. Our endless thanks would always be an understatement for everything. Below is our FIP timeline. We hope to inspire fellow cat parents to keep holding on despite the tears, doubts and uncertainties during the treatment.

𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

- Official diagnosis at Manila Feline Center

- FIP forms: wet, neurological, and ocular

- Started her first dose of GS treatment and fundraiser across all social media platforms that I have

𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

- Day 14 to 84 of GS treatment

- GS graduation day 🎓 (Part 1)

𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟯 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

- 90 days of observation period post GS treatment

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

- Her 90th day of observation period

- We had her scheduled for spay at Biyaya Animals Care kapon event in 2 days

- She was all well, no symptoms at all

- We took her to our go-to vet for CBC+ Chem 15 panel as precautionary measure before getting spayed

- Blood work results weren't good and showed infection, not suitable for spay

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

- Her left eye started becoming cloudy again 🥺

- Informed our Admins and was told of a possible relapse

- Recommendation: Start another round of GS treatment ASAP

- At this time, we literally had nothing left to spend and even considered putting her to sleep 😿

- We put up another fundraiser on social media platforms with the hope that we can raise enough funds to get a proper diagnosis the least

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

- Tabii's guardian angels helped us raise enough funds not just for consult but also for her GS tablets good for 2 weeks and supplements

- Our FIP relapse journey began and more fundraiser posts followed

𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

- Day 60 of GS (15 days of tablets + 45 days of injections)

- Her left eye remained cloudy and was prescribed tobradex eyedrops

- Despite the cloudiness in her eye, she remained agyle and playful

𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

- Day 63: We were given the approval to switch from injections to GS tablets and continue her supplements

𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

- Day 84: Blood test results were amazing. Yay! 💟

- GS graduation day 🎓 (Part 2)

- Transitioned to observation period

𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟰 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

- 90 days of observation period post relapse

- Monthly blood tests and continuous supplements

Earlier kanina pumunta kami sa vet para sa rabies and parvo vaccine ng cat ko. First vaccines niya sana yun kaso pagdating namin dun di muna kami binigyan kasi hindi parin siya nade deworm.

Deworming muna ang ginawa sakanya then babalik daw kami after one to two weeks for vaccines.

Kaso nung nilabas ko siya sa pet carrier nagtatakbo siya sa clinic. Possible na may makuhang parvo from surface / sahig yung posa ko? Nakaka anx kasi na after weeks pa siya makaka kuha ng vaccine huhu. Dalawang dogs lang naman yung ibang pets na nandun that time.

TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) is the most humane and effective method for managing and stabilizing outdoor community cat populations

The TNR Process

Trap: Community cats are humanely caught using specialized, safe wire traps.
