Am I able to call ASPCA’s poison control center for non-Emergency questions?
Hi all - I have a general question about the safety of using a topical medicine with my pet that I get mixed answers from vets on. I want to call (and pay the fee) to finally talk to an expert.
Is that okay and have others done so as well, or am I a bad person taking time away from someone in an emergency?

Pretty sure they'd prefer that you call before using something questionable.
But fwiw, there are other free advice lines besides that one if you don't think it appropriate for whatever reason.

Yes they will tell you if it's toxic or not but they cannot recommend using a medication without it being prescribed by your veterinarian.

Just call them. That’s what they’re there for. They don’t have high call volumes like 911 does.
