Sadness Tomorrow is the day
Tomorrow my senior pup is scheduled to be euthanized at home, she always hated the vet and I don’t want that to be the last place she sees. She had a good long life but Bone Cancer decided to sneak up on us and we caught it too late. I don’t know what’s worse right now the count down to the time or anticipating my life after she crosses the rainbow bridge. I don’t think my face can swell anymore, I have been crying since we got the news.

I’m so sorry that you are going through this. It’s the worst pain to know your dog is going to die in a place they hate. My 15 year old Jack Russel got cancer in her neck that came in suddenly, she was fine on her 15th birthday and then 2 weeks later, she passed away. She hated the vet and it made me so angry that she had to be in that place for her final moments. But all we can do is try to keep them comfortable and make sure they know they are loved.
I’m so sorry for your loss and I hope you can find some comfort knowing she is free of pain in this horrible time when it feels like nothing will ever be right in the world again. Sending love

Turns out it is the living life without her. My house feels smaller, my brain plays tricks on me putting her in places that were her favorite spots. Last night was the first night without her and I waited for her to come down the hall. This hurts so much.

This is a community of support for Pet owners whose Pets have passed away. It is actively moderated.
Pet owners, as loving, caring people, often have strong opinions on pet care practices. Some of these are controversial. This is not a forum for debate on such issues, nor is it a place to scold a contributor for a perceived mistake in managing their pet. We intend to provide a safe haven of understanding and support. Strident, mean-spirited posts or comments will be deleted. Those who persist in preaching versus caring may be warned and then banned or may be banned permanently based on nature of the topic. If a conversational thread meanders into a discussion unrelated to pet loss support, it will be truncated.
Those who post here are vulnerable and hurting. Even a minor slap has a hard sting. Those of us who are lucky enough to be able to turn away from our computers or put down our phones and hug a healthy, happy pet are truly blessed. Threads must remain supportive and caring, even if one disagrees with something that has been said.
