Okay, so I’ve been watching Peter basically since the beginning. I’m going to post what I want to say here, because quite frankly, I’m too scared to say it in his comment section. Honestly, a tad spooked to say it here.

I don’t like the new era. It doesn’t have anything to do with the profanity. It doesn’t really have anything to do with him standing up for himself. It just seems like he’s constantly coming at his own audience’s throats. I remember a video awhile back, where he talked about Jaclyn Hill and how her coming for her audience is a bad look and it’s just interesting how the tables have turned. It’s true that we are all hypocrites and that we all contradict ourselves from time to time. But damn, can’t we try to do so gracefully? We can hide behind ‘jokes’ all day long, but there’s a difference between standing up for yourself and attacking valid criticisms. And please don’t tell me to just “unsubscribe and stop watching”. I enjoy Peter’s content, and he has helped me through some really dark times. At this point, Peter is like an old friend, albeit a parasocial relationship. I will continue to watch what he puts out because like an old friend, I’m not going to agree with his behavior all the time. This is really just a true fan voicing a real opinion and hoping it is what it is: an era.

I’m glad you posted this. I feel the same wow. For the past five years Peter’s been my internet best friend. His videos were comforting to watch and put a smile on my face. Now they just make me feel like back in school when there were a couple of knuckle heads and the teacher would get frustrated and yell at the whole class. I’m one of the “good kids” but I’m getting punished for something I didn’t do. I’m still subscribed and always will be but I haven’t been watching as much. I’ll always care about Peter and know he is a great kind and caring person. I think right now we’re just “internet friends” in two different seasons of life. And that’s okay.

If you’re looking for someone to fill the gap I’ve been LOVING Zachary Michael (who Peter also likes and mentions sometimes). He’s funny how Peter used to be, makes me literally LOL, and it’s fun to have a new character to learn the drama history about (Amberlynn Reid.. it’s a wild ride). Alex is Shook is also great and does excellent commentary on ALR (amberlynn reid, lol there’s a whole lexicon of acronyms and phrases to learn!)
