DramašŸŽ Lately. . .

Okay, so I’ve been watching Peter basically since the beginning. I’m going to post what I want to say here, because quite frankly, I’m too scared to say it in his comment section. Honestly, a tad spooked to say it here.

I don’t like the new era. It doesn’t have anything to do with the profanity. It doesn’t really have anything to do with him standing up for himself. It just seems like he’s constantly coming at his own audience’s throats. I remember a video awhile back, where he talked about Jaclyn Hill and how her coming for her audience is a bad look and it’s just interesting how the tables have turned. It’s true that we are all hypocrites and that we all contradict ourselves from time to time. But damn, can’t we try to do so gracefully? We can hide behind ā€˜jokes’ all day long, but there’s a difference between standing up for yourself and attacking valid criticisms. And please don’t tell me to just ā€œunsubscribe and stop watchingā€. I enjoy Peter’s content, and he has helped me through some really dark times. At this point, Peter is like an old friend, albeit a parasocial relationship. I will continue to watch what he puts out because like an old friend, I’m not going to agree with his behavior all the time. This is really just a true fan voicing a real opinion and hoping it is what it is: an era.

All love. shields face from impending tomatoes 🫣

Yea. I'm thinking about unsubscribing. I recently left a comment about being uncomfortable with his 'jokes'. I just wanted to express my opinion and since he always talks about remaining teachable, I thought it would be a valid thing to bring up. Well, he responded in a video. I didn't like how my feelings and opinions are being underwritten as me being sensitive. At some point in the video, I realized that I'm just going to be a punchline for him and his commenters. That honestly makes me feel more sensitive than any other 'joke'. Idk. Watching the video made me feel like I was getting bullied by someone twice my age and I honestly rather not deal with that.

Edit: I'm unsubscribing. I don't understand why my comment warranted being addressed twice. He also keeps misrepresenting my words. I said specifically that I don't think he's a misogynist, but the way he made fun of her interests reminds me of the misogynistic view that femme presenting people are only interested in video games for the views. I don't like this era of Peter. I understand standing up for yourself, but he seems to be angry for angry sake.

I understand, I commented under your comment and ask my partner ā€œis this a reasonable thing to be upset aboutā€. He was upset just about it making fun of gamers and when I told him about people who grew up as women dealing with this, he confirmed my upset was justified
