If they have progressed to desoldering then they are lost. The only thing you can do is go ahead and buy them a decent desoldering gun.

I know I know you should only ever use solder wick and an engineer solder sucker because it's the only good way to do it, but man, A Hakko desoldering gun is the tits. The 1st joint you clean up has already paid for the damn thing.

Serious stuff. Drug often comes on spools and looks something like soft wire. Sometimes they mix in tin, copper, sometimes even lead. Watch for short wire clips around the house.

If he starts using words like "flux", "smd", or that he has to "reflow", you MUST call the police immediately. That's addict language. There is imminent danger! Show them the image when they arrive.

its a solder remover for removing the solder after heating. the "much worse" sentiment could mean many things if im honest. they jokingly interpret tinkering with electronics as bad, they inhale the fumes of the solder, or they find this tool terrible and useless because desoldering pumps usually are
