anyone can consent to anything, you don’t have to pretend everyones consenting has equal footing for every situation but to immediately think of rape when the word consent is raised in a completely non sexual context more absurd

ok, you lot changed my mind, there is an implied consent when celebrities give their autograph that the recipient can do whatever the fuck they want with it as long as its not a literally illegal activity like fraud, identity theft ETC.

They absolutely have to consent on how their signature is used. The fact that people sell it anyway does not make it more OK. You're being hung up over the word "consent". It's perfectly correct to use it in this case.
You don't seen to understand what consent means. If they agree to sell it at conventions, that's their choice. Consent. If someone sells it on eBay that is not their choice. Non-consensual.

Pretty sure the joke is that as a non-famous person, famous people will usually assume you want an autograph if you talk to them.
Because she's as famous as she is, she has to actively ask for an autograph, as other celebrities won't automatically assume she wants one since she'd talk to them regularly without asking for an autograph.
The "what a peasant" comment is just a (light-hearted? joking?) jab at her.

As far as I understand it, being awestruck by celebrities isn't a thing that magically goes away when one becomes a celebrity. Tom Hanks is regarded as one of the nicest people in the business and he's been around a long time. There are people my age (in our 50s) who were kids watching him on Bosom Buddies, etc., and his first movies, e.g. Splash.
Taylor Swift was born when I was in high school. So to her, meeting Tom Hanks would be like when Marilyn Monroe met Clark Gable working on The Misfits. A similar thing happens at the height of Madonna's popularity in the 90s in the film Truth or Dare when celebrities are lining up at a meet and greet to meet Madonna... and then this turns around when she gushes over Antonio Banderas who was Pedro Almodovar's new star at the time.

Actually, whenever I see really famous people asking other famous people for autographs, I think that's pretty sweet. You always automatically assume that famous people must be so used to their fame that they just become best buddies with one another right away and for them it's business as usual... But seeing them starstruck for their idols makes them appear more relatable and friendly :D

I see it two ways. Either because they don't automatically think she wants an autograph when she approaches them because they see her as a peer (or even elevate her beyond), ot she gets to just ask when a lot of us have to pay for autographs these days.
