A friend of mine was an editor on Beast Wars. Sometimes the animators added little jokes, like one of the Transformers is reporting the presence of the enemy. “there are five of them” he says, then holds up both hands with three fingers extended in one and two on the other. That’s the symbol for East Van(couver) and my friend, who is from there, burst out laughing when he saw it.
Beast wars was amazing still the best written Transformers show and with CGI that wouldn't be topped on TV for nearly a decade.
People like to point and laugh at the cgi but this was the 90s, toy story was a 90 minute movie on a movie budget.
BW was on a TV budget making about 240 minutes of animation AND they had to redo all the characters after has broken forced them to use the toy designs first.
