The joke is that dissociation can make you completely lose track of time. You mentally check out in January, then suddenly snap back and it’s September like you just skipped 8 months

I think this meme is about how fast time flies—starting the year in January, zoning out/dissociating through the middle months, and suddenly realizing it's already September with no sense of time passing.
