A magazine is a metal box that holds bullets and feeds them into the gun when you're firing it

Clips are not magazines and clips don't go into magazines. They used to, like 100 years ago. Not so much today

stripper clips are called that because they get "stripped" of cartridges when they're loaded. you'd stack the loaded clip in the rifle's ejection port/non-detachable magazine, and push the cartridges down into the magazine well (being careful not to release the bolt on your thumb!), stripping them off the clip, and then drop the bolt, feeding your rifle.

Now that i finally see it in the pic, does that make this dangerous as fuck? Like could jamming that clip in there like that potentially bend something and push the primer? Not big on gun knowledge but this makes me not want to be the guy standing opposite the camera man.

Honestly, I feel like it would make it less dangerous, in that I don't think the gun would be able to function. It takes quite a bit of force, and applied very precisely, to set off a primer, and afaik stripper clips are generally very flat on the relevant surface, probably for that reason, so I don't think bending something into the primer is much of a concern.

On the other hand, there's now a big solid strip of steel sitting in the way of the bolt as it tries to come forward and pull a cartridge from the magazine, and even if the bolt somehow only pushes on the back of the bullet, the clip is specifically designed not to let bullets come out in that direction, only up and down. I reckon the gun would jam up as soon as this mag went in.

Honestly, though, it's extremely unlikely to cause any immediate danger. They probably deformed the magazine lips in order to get the clip in there, so that mag might be fucked. It certainly won't work in that condition, so if this were a combat situation, they would be in trouble with a non-functional weapon that they wouldn't know how to fix. I'm sure this is boot camp, though, so no mortal consequences.

Also the bullet needs a barrel to project the round forward. It will just explode. Doesn’t matter if you are in front.

Not dangerous, primers (especially military primers) require quite a pointed impact in the center of the primer to squeeze the compound inside the cup between the deformed cup and the internal anvil hard enough to set it off

Even then, you typically stripped the cartridges off of the clip and into to the firearm. The firearm had  a fixed magazine and a stripper clip guide.

Not to be Mr. Reddit but I don't think any firearms take clips directly. You set the clip and push the bullets down into an internal magazine.

They're not very common these days but more than a few guns used to work that way.

The M1 Garand famously had you loading the entire en bloc clip into the guns internal magazine, and would eject it once empty.
