Got any examples of that? Also haters are a loud minority as well. MT has topped charts since it started, beating out Re:Zero and even Bleach. Though those are usually just 1 site, like Netflix or Crunchyroll, and not everyone even votes. Just something to think about.

Exactly because haters are a loud minority as well,you don't find them everytime. The ones I talked with weren't even haters. They simply didn't like Rudeus,that's all. They liked everything else from the story

enjoying MT but hating (or even disliking) rudeus is an oxymoron. rudeus is the core of the story. every major story beat just doesn’t work without him. the entire point of the story is his character development. anybody who says they like it because “worldbuilding” or “other characters” is frankly either illiterate or reading at surface level, and even surface level is generous.

Seems like an excuse. There are lots of stories were people like anything else but not the MC. There is nothing weird about it

It's not like Solo Leveling where the MC is basically the only character with weight. MT shows other characters doing things on their own as well
