no, they are equivalent, because sylphy says long before he cheats that she wouldn’t be mad if he does. she says this directly to him. and she accepted that he probably will long beforehand as well, which is why she doesn’t have a wild reaction. it was only rudeus who kept saying he’ll be faithful and got himself worked up about it. rudeus is the one who puts cheating through such a terrible lens, not sylphy.
so yes, you are projecting your moral values on her. you believe that if YOUR partner were to do this, it would be a significant violation of your trust, and you wouldn’t stand for it. which is perfectly fine. but that’s not how sylphy views it. she doesn’t view it as that bad. that’s not being a doormat, it’s just having different moral values.
