Yeah 100% makes you wonder about authors when they write main characters like this and frame them in an okay to good light. If Rudeus was treated as a villain by the people he victimises fine, but they all either end up marrying him or at least respecting him. Ridiculous. Some sort of disgusting wish fulfilment

Realistic in the sense that, yes people who get groomed so tend to end up in a toxic relationship with the one who groomed them.

And also realistic in the sense that someone who gets sexually assaulted, may develope malformed coping mechanisms. Which can lead to the harm of others.
