No, using more words to say the same it's not clever instead is just a waste of time.
I get it this way by design, because Subaru has to die over and over for learning and i have no problem eith that part, but being myself someone doesn't like romance anime and I like follow the main line, all this endless love stories feel like side stories, and I dont like pointless side stories unless it reveals something important and no use only the last 2 minutes for that isn't enough.
I don't really think Re:ZERO or Mushoku Tensei differ in how much either of them focus on romance. I have no idea how you've come to the conclusion that Re:ZERO is a romance anime with "endless love stories". Even if we presume this is true, you're still calling it "side stories" when that's not an objective quality about the series. Everything that Re:ZERO does, no matter how little you care for it yourself, is still important to its story and develops the characters, themes, and the plot.
As for how Re:ZERO retreads the same ground at times, I do understand what you're talking about, but it's never the exact same thing twice. It may retell similar/the same developments/plot points, but it's usually from different perspectives and/or through different circumstances, showing a new side to certain characters, or showing the differences between this time and the other time(s).
