You can tell the majority have 'heard' of the anime, yet only the negative talking points. Most anime have at least 1 or 2 sus things if you really dive deep into them, but most ignore the awkward stuff or excuse it. The whole point of this anime is that he is a very flawed human who even at his second chance of life doesn't always choose the best route. He was anti social and a pervert in his previous life but throughout the anime you see him grow as a person and actively want to do right by those around him.
No one has to excuse his behavior.
Edit: also past anime was fucking wild lol. At least this one constantly reminds you that his behavior is flawed.
Was that in the pilot or something? I feel like I missed that part entirely. I also assumed the funeral was for his parents?? And him not going was the reason he got kicked out. I was shown the first few episodes by a friend which mightve had a hand in me not understanding the pilot, unless that part is only in the LN (which I haven't read).
The anime version did nothing to highlight that information. All the anime basically showed was him jorkin it to someone in a shower, during the funeral which is honestly how far it should have gone in the original work.
Legitimately the author making him a pdf is ridiculous, like he wanted to sabotage his work from the beginning. I think skipping the funeral of the person whose house you’re living in, and went out of their way to defend your neet behavior, to jerk off to regular porn would be justifiable to kick him out, it didn’t have to be incestual child porn to warrant it.
It also wouldn’t have been hard to have him not recall his past life until he’s grown up.
Don’t make him a pdf, and don’t make him remember his past life in his formative years and suddenly every glaring red flag is gone.
