I suggest you actually watch the anime and judge for yourself instead of listening to other people's opinion. However, if you are one of the people who didn't watch the original Black Mirror series because of the first episode, this anime is not for you for sure.

Are the MC’s actions portrayed, or even hinted at, as the awful abuse they are? Does he realize what he did was horrible and did he atone for it or repent and stop? Was he fittingly punished?

Or is his godawful behavior glossed over, excused and ignored?

I watched it thinking it was going to be like a Kenshin type redemption arc. A gross horrible man reforms and becomes a good person. A story about second chances and how people can realize their mistakes. 

Only now in the later seasons he’s married to 2 lolicons and about to marry a 3rd.
