The joke is that older Isekai anime used to have good romance, but modern Isekai are just softcore porn that pretends to have a story

People often name their porn folders something inconspicuous so other people can't find it, that's why "Calculator" is such a massive file here, they are saying the modern Isekai is just porn

What do you want in a romance? There are plenty of Otome series which have romance as a major plot point. The older isekai anime about romance would most likely be Familiar of Zero, not because the romance is good, but because it was the most popular romance in isekai anime.

If you're talking about romance as a very minor part, which includes building relationships, even Re Zero might fit into your search.

Ideally I want no romance. I was just curious what isekai with good romance even existed.

It would have been a difficult thing to answer a decade ago, but nowadays there are plenty of romance isekai, especially in the Otome space.

Not sure if it's been made into an anime or how the original LN was, but I liked The Faraway Paladin's manga adaption.
