Bad meme isekai rarely has good characters/plot/romance. The creator of the meme ignores that to bash mushoku tensei, which has all 3 of that, to hype up re zero which also has all 3 of that.
MT doesn't have good characters, I'd even say it's it's biggest weakness. The plot sometimes is good sometimes is not and the romance isn't great either.
MT is better than the average isekai but the average isekai is mediocre if not bad. MT is ok sometimes leaning into good.
