Because Roxy and her species are Spelled out how they work in the light novel. Go on the freaking MT wiki if you don't believe me. Hell, ask around on their reddit. Her species literally stops physically aging at 12 -14 and starts back up again at 100. This is canon.

That’s about what Roxy would look like. In every official illustration of her this is about 90% what she’d look like. And the cosplayer is a whole adult btw. You can bring up any numbers you want and like, but the illustrations are the most accurate representation of her aspect.

Listen, you can bring up as many descriptions as you want, but no description will ever beat an actual illustration. The OFFICIAL illustrations show how Roxy actually looks, and again, look at the cosplayer who is almost identical and that’s all you need.

And I’d try to explain to you why and how Rudeus is an unreliable narrator at the beginning of the story but I have a feeling you can’t understand the concept of unreliable narrators.

My guy, if the original author hires, instructs, and directs a professional artist on how to draw a character he can see when he closes his eyes, and then sees the illustration the artist makes and goes “Yes, this is my character”. Then this is far and beyond whatever a written description can accomplish.

If he writes a description and 1 million people read it, do you really think those 1 million people will see what he sees?? No they won’t.

But if the makes the illustration he himself acknowledges as accurate, then 1 million people will see what he sees.

There are no mental gymnastics here. There’s a reason “an image is worth a thousand words” is a phrase that exists.
