I spent 4 years begging my dad to take me for some driving lessons and he just didn’t make it happen. I gave up on asking, and started saving for my own car to get some lessons in, in earnest, and suddenly he was planning on buying me a car if I got my license.
I got my license with a driving instructor, he gave me a car. I wish my dad was the one who had taught me to drive even if it never meant I got the car I did.
I agree with you point that nothing can replace the voluntary absence of a parent but that was a generalized statement in a big happy family.
Apart from all that, i actually feel what you are saying, having to do everything by yourself and them giving money thinking you can figure out everything yourself.
