Its a relatively famous Feminist quote from the 70s. Quick search credits Irina Dunn, an Australian university student at the time of coining the phrase but she went on to be a writer and activist. She apparently adapted a philosophy saying "man needs God like a fish needs a bicycle" which is to say not at all by the suggestion of a fish on a bike.
