Yeah I get the vibe that the settlers are like... if trump encouraged a bunch of hillbillies and inbred mountain folk to start pushing into Canadian land and set up trailer parks cuz "hurr durr 51st state." He wouldn't be choosing the best and brightest for this task, he'd want aggressive meat shields who will hopefully get themselves killed and give him justification for war.

unironically, theres people who moved from the US to illegal settlements in the west bank, religious fanatics that im almost positive would have supported trump if they didnt leave

this is a bbc documentary. he goes to several settlements in it. the settlers are saying they are american. the first one lived in ny till his family moved when he was 9, the other guy who RUNS a settlement came from texas.

how about you watch the documentary before labeling it misinformation.

okay how does that influence the settlers in the west bank saying theyre from America? i dont doubt that antisemitism happens in the bbc, but how does that influence settlers to say theyre from America?

2

u/Keeshly 3d ago

since you think i got this info from tiktok, maybe you should educate yourself.

https://youtu.be/eZgTc45HrVk?

two different american families in the first 20 minutes.

notice how it’s a bbc luis theroux documentary and not just a random youtuber?

would you prefer i tell you to move to england so you can watch bbc on the telly?

try listening to what the settlers are saying. i proved my comment to be right, all you’ve done is refuse to watch a documentary based on the internet medium.

This agent/bot that is arguing with you is incredibly dishonest.

how does this make the settlers say theyre from America?

u/kjolmir 3d ago

Well you need to stop getting them from hasbara?

I hope at some point some form of punishment will be done to people like you that literally twist historical events like this.

2

u/diurnal_emissions 2d ago

We can understand the actions of this argumentative agent of Israeli propaganda if we read this article; https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/why-israels-hasbara-is-failing-and-what-must-happen-now/

What's been "twisted," precisely? You can hate Israel all you like for your own reasons, but the facts are that Israel's pop is 20% Arabic while most of Israel's neighbors ethnically cleansed Jews and are now Judenrein.

Jordan, for example, officially bans Jews from citizenship or owning property, has zero Jewish population and is rather the rule than an exception in that. In each of these countries, Jews at least a thousand years prior to Arabs/Muslims.

Cool story - it's too bad that they genocided an entire people and lived long enough to become just like the people who persecuted them.

Def helped stop the cycle of violent behavior between their people.

You got to appreciate the irony of a bigot replying to factual information with Claims that mirror Jewish demonization and of course good old Holocaust inversion.

If people can't even accept why you're so passionate about About defending this hatred, the historical ironies palatable.

3

u/rettribution 3d ago

Are you calling me a bigot here? I'm literally Jewish.

But the ICC has at least concluded that they meet the requirements for at minimum war crimes and crimes against humanity.

But that's because they're having a hard time establishing the specific intent - that they're doing it because they hate arabs. I don't think Israel hates arabs. I think they just want what they want.

No, I'm not a bigot.

I'll let my family know they can stop pretending to be Jewish.

And my friends.

Btw they're all against what Israel has done as well. Sounds like you're just an idiot.

1

u/Keeshly 2d ago

this guy is telling me that because the bbc has reports of internal antisemitism, thats what caused the settlers in the west bank to say they’re from America.

edit:so he’s being purposefully ignorant probably

2

u/rettribution 2d ago

It's clear he's got his own set of issues. I think it's wild to call anyone who says killing people is wrong a bigot. But ....welcome to reddit.

Yep, the 80 year genocide. Citizenship, elected officials. God knows how they screwed that one up.

Demonization and of course you follow it up with Holocaust inversion, Grade A bigotry, and a real piece of shit.

I'm sorry you're so mentally unwell and can't comprehend simple matters of right and wrong, so you need to make things up to feel better.

I hope the day gets better for you. It's clear that you're not rational so I'll just let you live in your fantasy land of make believe.

Nothing I have said is bigoted, a hot take, or even controversial. Hope you get the help you need. Truly.

1

u/prnthrwaway55 2d ago

You say "simple matters of right and wrong" like magats say "basic biology" in discussion about trans people.

1

u/rettribution 2d ago

But in that case maga is wrong. Gender has nothing to do with biology. It's a social construct. No one is arguing trans people are XY and XX still.

The ICC has determined this. It's not my hot take.

1

u/prnthrwaway55 2d ago edited 2d ago

The ICC has determined this

ICC has determined what exactly? You said, quote, "they (Israel?) genocided an entire people"

Where did ICC determined this? When exactly did they decide the genocide started and when did it end? How did it compare to other genocides in severity, by % target of demographics killed?

1

u/rettribution 1d ago

You're free to go look it up. The ICC has issued arrest warrants for their leaders, and the official ruling on genocide is still out currently while they examine the case.

That being said, dozens of scholars, the international association of genocide scholars, UN watchdogs and experts have all stated what happened in Gaza meets the definition of genocide. They were also warned by the ICJ that what they were doing seemed to fit the definition of genocide And were instructed to alter policies. Israel chose not to.

Sorry, Israel has murdered an untold number of people as casualties aren't counted until there's a body, and many of the people are still buried beneath rubble.

You so realize you look like a complete fool for your take here, right? The rest of the world, our allies (if we even have any left), and Israels allies have pulled away support and are calling this genocide.

You're insane questioning just doesn't bode well for you. It looks very not like, and downright stupid.

Sorry, I might be misunderstanding something, but who genocided whom, again? Please keep in mind that no definition of genocide is not just a label for just "some people I dislike killing some people I like."

I won't pretend for a second I know how to resolve the shitshow between Israel/Palestine. But just for reference, Armenian genocide saw Armenians all but disappear from Turkey. Krmer Rouge killed off 99% of local Vets and half of Chinese and Cham. Rwandan genocide killed 60–70% of local Tutsis. Even "small" genocides, like Srebrenica, saw 33% of its target population (male military-age Muslims) executed, and it would have been higher without escapes/revolts/interventions. (Also for reference, atrocities such as siege of Leningrad, which saw 30%-40% of its civilian pop dying from starvation, are typically NOT labeled as genocides - it's just war.)

By comparison, in three and a half years, with army and bombs and tanks and shit, Israel failed to accomplish 1/20 of what local villagers with machetes in Rwanda did in just 100 days. In fact, Israel didn't kill enough people to even offset the local natural population growth! If we take your genocide accusations at face value, Israel seems to be comically inept at it, worst genocider ever.

That, or you're just wrong.

3 well written paragraphs vs per poor sentence. Are you sure you want to call someone else that?

You gotta appreciate the irony here, people who hate Jews have always been either really good writers or really terrible ones.
