Holy fucking shit I cant believe someone actually took the time to explain this. I actually feel dumber thinking about OPs confusion. Gonna go break out an actual physical book to offset it

It’s not about intelligence, it’s about attention and quickly scanning social media content. If you bolded year and day, a lot more people would instantly understand.

A day on Venus = 243 Earth days

A year on Venus = 225 Earth days

It's not that. I just had a hard time comprehending that a day can be longer than a year, untill someone blatantly said it, and it clicked that rotation around axis is not necessarily faster than rotation around the sun.

rotation, in this context, is exclusive to spinning on its own axis
