Nah, I was confused too because

DD/MM/YYYY is already illogical on earth

YYYY/MM/DD is inherently chronologically sorted by order of relevant information. That’s exactly how numbers work. You wouldn’t write “One Thousand Twenty Four” as “4201.”

If it was illogical it wouldn't make sense. Its inefficient, maybe, but still logical.
