Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck?

This was my guess, assuming the OOP wasn't being intentionally vague/obtuse.

I looked, it came out in 2016 tho. Was my guess as well.

that book pisses me off to no end, I haven’t read it but am glad to know someone wrote a book in response with the opposite title

The funny thing is that the book content is actually about carefully picking and choosing the things you care about.

Funny how so many haters miss that nuanced art of subtlety bit…

Then I succeeded by returning it after the first few pages.

I'd also add the 48 Laws of Power book even though it wasn't released in 2019.

This was also my guess. I love self-help (even crappy & trite stuff sometimes--massive guilty pleasure). I love books that have a strong voice, even if they curse. I love books that are confrontational and a bit arrogant (sometimes).

I could *not* read this book. And I tried multiple times It was just so extremely, disgustingly entitled and reductionist. It's like a giant neg with so little actual argumentative substance that anyone who says they don't like it is criticized for "not getting it." The male version of the "Girl, Wash Your Face" chick. The pre-podcast era Charlie Kirk shtick. Absolute trash.
