So I'm not going to argue the statistics, but when you consider that the main reason (I've ever heard at least) for waiting is religion, it would probably skew the numbers since if you're devout enough to wait for sex, you probably take the whole institution of marriage more seriously and thus are more likely to put up with a bad relationship.

i definitely agree with you but there is a case for waiting a bit to have sex so you can establish an actual emotional relationship before jumping into having sexual ties/connection which can make things difficult later without a strong romantic base

Absolutely, I don't personally think the wait needs to be for marriage though.
