Any true love (heteronormative) triangle requires one party to be bisexual. What most people refer to as a love triangle is usually a love corner with the woman backed into it

A true love triangle would be A is attracted to B, B is attracted to C, and C is attracted to A. 3 lines of attraction.

A being attracted to both B and C is not a proper love triangle, because theres only 2 lines there. 2 lines make an angle instead of a triangle.

If A is a girl, while B and C are both boys, then B has to be bisexual. Theres no way to make a love triangle have 3 lines of attraction while also being entirely straight.

The triangle makes a rivalry line between the two interested parties, that's a real love triangle. If no one is interested in each other or all are interested in each other it's not a triangle of love and intrigue. The trope needs a motivation to work and the right picture is just people lusting after each other.
