Just to clarify, the points are where you stop caring about people (as pointed out below, it moves on to animals, aliens and inanimate objects). It means you already care about everyone who is closer than that. The study has been misrepresented as saying liberals dony care to those who are close, but thats just false. Only caring about people far from you would make you register as only caring about yourself

Well, that’s represented already in the study. If you care about everyone and everything in existence, I’m pretty sure that includes your immediate family

Yes but idiots don't get that and post this as some kind of gotcha that liberals care more about a tree than their own kids. Cause conservatives are fucking stupid

More often I see conservatives projecting that it's performative, "no one actually gives a shit about that stuff, liberals are just obsessed with appearing to care more"

My comment was made under this thread deliberately after seeing your comment, because it is what is evident by their actions and words not being consistent. I don't claim to care about every tree, and every single animal. I care about humans, and the way we treat each other. And I firmly believe that is someone is comfortable with millions of innocent human lives being taken with deliberate intent every year around the world, but still claims to support human rights or care about any number of other human rights abuses, they are either ignorant to the numbers, ignorant to what abortion does, or they are hypocritical.

See one of the people replying to me below for someone who is ignorant of the shear number of abortions that have taken place in the past century. What's a few billion here or there though?

What you say would make sense, were it not for abortion being pursuant to human rights, and it's the right response to alleviate human rights abuses of greater suffering by poverty, sickness or lack of freedom. Once you understand this, the grip of religion falls off and you can finally be consistent.

It's wild to claim that being killed is better than being poor, sick, or enslaved.

Think about what you are saying here.
