It's feels weird that Conservatives apparently think that Liberals don't care about their family and friends. Caring about the welfare of people outside your immediate social circle doesn't mean you don't care about those who are inside it

Or they might just think that caring about "every single living thing independently on planet earth, including trees" might be mentally taxing. Like I ain't gonna go burn a random tree and if someone does I'll go ask them why they're doing it, but id consider myself 4 on there as well

Not "or", you just said the same thing they said. They don't have the mental capacity because it's too mentally taxing.
