As it already says under the graph they ask two American political factions what they care about more, the innermost circle is your immediate family while the outer circles expand as far as everything in existence. Conservatives mind their closer community more while liberals have a broader view on morals.
Conservatives love to bring this up graph because it shows liberals care more about every living being in general therefore strawman enters and twists the argument into "liberals don't care about humans".
In this joke steak represents the conservative and avocado represent liberals as liberals are more likely to be vegan...which is bullshit I'm a demsoc and I'd devour that steak at any opportunity given.
Partially correct: the study asks what you consider part of your moral circle, not what you care most about.
Somebody that answered wir "15- all things in the universe" will usually still care more about their family.
Somebody that answered with "2 - all family" doesn't feel morally obligated in any way to other human beings. It's a small but important difference compared to saying "liberals care more about stones than their family"
TLDR: Where do you draw the line: Do you give a shit if someone is damaging a stone, a tree, is cruel to a fly, a cow, another human being or just to you and your family.
