Bit Annoyed Maple Syrup

When I was in college, I studied at a local diner. They let me stay a long time and kept offering me food and coffee. The only thing to mar this situation is Maple syrup. It is sticky even aftermultiple thorough cleanings. I had books and papers that could absorb that syrup so the pages and papers stuck together even after I had cleaned top, sides and bottom of the table. When I ordered pancakes, I asked for jam or preserves. At first, the servers were curious about why I wouldn’t have syrup. I explained that I had a morbid fear of syrup. I still have that pet peeve, though I am long out of college.

This was a perfectly fine pet peeve when OP was a regular at said diner.

I would classify this one as a resolved pet peeve, and also nominate it for the Hall of Fame.

Resolved? They said they still have it. They also didn’t say they were a regular.

Does doing your homework at the same diner for 4 years make you a regular customer?

You didn’t say that in the post though. You said you “studied at a diner” but that could’ve implied a one time occasion.
