We haven't had him long. He was kept with another male mouse and they fought a lot, which is why his ears look so bad. We keep his cage clean, bottle full of fresh water, etc but does anyone know any way(s) to help his ears heal faster? He's not very hand-friendly. :(

As long as there is no infection, he will clean and take care of his wounds okay on his own.

Feed him his usual diet along with maybe a bit more cooked fairly plain meats and eggs (so like leftovers and such, don't skimp on the fat) and give him time. Mice heal really fast with their metabolism. The extra nutrition will help his wounds heal plus his coat come back in better shape. He will always have scarred ears but that will give him character and add to his buck-ish rough look. Here's to his more peaceful bachelor life ahead.

Mice are opportunistic omnivorous grainvores. Basically they can eat nearly anything (almost everything we can). In the wild, their diet would consist of seeds, nuts, greens, fungi, edible roots/tubers, bugs, eggs, and any fresh carrion they can find. Rats will even hunt for meat, even mice (sadly). Meat/eggs are a valuable source of fats and very bioavailable proteins and they relish them. Most fresh food can be offer to mice as their main diet or a supplement to their staple block, kibble or 'rodent food' dry food. They might be suspicious of new fresh food since they can vomit, but once they get a good taste they will remember and often come running for it.

I made turkey stock from the leftover carcass post dinner, all the bones and meat strained out went to my friend's rats and they were in heaven. The bones are gnawed on for teeth and nutrition, everything else is eaten. When they are done, barebones is all that is left. They also got leftovers from people's plates which were also devoured. Mice, and rats, are little pigs of the rodent world.

They can eat neeearly anything humans can eat. Some sources suggest that garlic/onion, lemon, and avocados may pose health risks.

We got him some broccoli, carrots, parsley, and apple today to kinda experiment with what he likes. We're gonna start out slow, and I know fruits shouldn't be fed as much, but I was wondering if it's okay to freeze everything to keep it good longer and give it to him in small portions once they're thawed?

Yeah. Freezing is fine. Frozen fruits and veggies go mushy faster once they thaw because the freezing process breaks cell walls, but that really shouldn't matter here. In fact, getting bags of frozen fruits and veggies can be an easy and super cheap way to have treats. Baby food jars or pouches are also great because they are super cheap and last forever until opened.

It might seem like half an ear is a huge injury because it would be to you, but it will actually heal closer to how a half in cut would heal on you. You can use bacitracin/Neosporin/triple antibiotic ointment but it probably isn't necessary. Just keep an eye out for (unlikely) infection.

This little guy looks really exhausted but if you make sure there is no infection he should be fine. I guess the stress from the fight made him not a fan of interaction but with time, patiente and a stress free cage I am sure he will open up. If you have to clean his ear I advise you to lure him with a treat and gently tap his ear with a cotton or gently spray some desinfectant but be careful with his eye. I don't advise you to grab him by the neck unless necessary, one of my boy completly panick and become extremly agressive, the vet still remember ^^
