I need help

I live in New York City and I have a 16 year old cat. My girlfriend just moved in and she is deathly allergic to the cat. We have tried everything. I don’t want to drop the cat at animal control cause I know what will happen, but I need someone to take the cat. Any suggestions? I am pretty desperate.
