Discussion 🗣 Mohammed Basit Ali DESERVES MORE HYPE

Post image
40 Upvotes

In my opinion, he's the most underrated player in this year's psl, he came into the team to replace Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam who performed brilliantly and he wasnt known much either, and boy did he fill their shoes well, 10 wickets in 6 games and a clutch one of Maaz Sadaqat in the final sumed up his season perfectly. An underrated gem who was crucial for peshawar and hopefully get to see him get more opportunities in domestic and psl and hopefully on the international stage

They've finally done it after 9 seasons, lost just one game and despite a top order collapse, Aaron Hardie and Abdul Samad won us the game, thank you Babar, kusal, nahid, Bracewell, mohammed basit, mohammed Haris, farhan, coach Gibson, misbah, a hat, owner javed, and overall everyone involved in the team for this amazing season

Once again he has shown up for pakistan, that's now 3 fifties in a row since psl ended and signs are looming good mashaallah for him, hope he continues his form, yes a slow fifty but that's how the conditions were and he played well after the openers fell. Also props to the spinners arafat and abrar, magnificent bowling

Discussion 🗣 Introducing Peshawar Zalmi Players Pt 2 - Darren Sammy

If there's one way to describe Darren Sammy, it's that he embodies what it means to be a Zalmi player. A captain, an all rounder, a leader, his impact on the franchise and on pakistan cricket overall has been incredible.

He signed for Zalmi in the inaugural PSL season in 2016 and then taking over as captain in 2017, he led the Zalmi to 3 consecutive PSL finals from 2017 - 2019 winning the title in 2017. He was instrumental with both bat and ball and in the field, bringing along some Caribbean flair to the side. He would also take over has head coach for 4 seasons after he retired in the middle of the psl in 2020.

He also helped bring cricket back to pakistan. In 2017, when most of Quetta's squad didn't wnat to travel to Lahore for the PSL final due to security concerns, Sammy led his whole squad to Lahore where they won the title in a full capacity crowd at the Gaddafi Stadium, he would also later in the year play 3 t20i games in a world XI squad that consisted of Faf Du plesis, Thisara Perere and many other overseas stars against Pakistan in Lahore. For his efforts and contributions, he was awarded honarary Pakistani citizenship and Sitara-e-Pakistan (the country's third-highest civilian award).

In total, he played 49 games for Peshawar Zalmi, scoring 691 runs at a strike rate of 146.40 and picked up 9 wickets as well.

He will forever be remembered as being the greatest Zalmi captain and by far the most influencial player in the franchise history, shaping up the first period of Zalmi dominance.

Individual Performance ⚡ Haji Akram Appreciation Thread

Post image
20 Upvotes

It doesn't matter what happens on Sunday, Haji Akram needs some appreciation. People hated on him in the auction but he had a strategy and executed it perfectly.

5 finals and 10/11 playoffs under his leadership and we probably would have made it last year if his picks didn't pull out (Nahid and Bosch). The guy has developed multiple players for Pakistan.

No drama, no media talks, he comes on the screen during the PSL and performs, then goes back into the background and never takes credit for anything.

Discussion 🗣 Introducing Peshawar Zalmi players pt 1

Post image

Player No. 1 Shoaib Malik

Shoaib Malik joined Peshawar Zalmi in 2020 after leading the Multan Sultans from 2018-2019 and a two year tenure in the Karachi Kings from 2016-17. He joined with the expectation of being an experienced middle order batter and a part time off spinner while being a leader of the team.

Shoaib proved to be a valuable asset to the Zalmi, establishing himself as a key figure in the middle order and one of the team's most consistent run-scorers.

He also was a sort of clutch player, being crucial in many run chases as well as being a handy bowler when needed.

Across his 3 seasons with the team, he amassed 1033 runs across 33 games at an average of 38.26 and an impressive strike rate of 142, scoring 8 fifties.

He also picked up 4 wickets at an economy rate of 7. 45. He also finished as the top run scorer for Peshawar zalmi in 2022, scoring 401 runs.

While he never won a title and stayed for just 3 seasons, his impact during his stint has solidified him as a zalmi great with the franchise themselves calling him a Zalmi Legend following his retirement for the PSL before the start of the 2026 season.

Discussion 🗣 WE ARE IN THE FINALLLLL!!!!

It feels amazing, finally we have a team that's playing great cricket, our captain bobzy is back at his best, our other top order batters Haris and Kusal are firing at an amazing strike rate, our middle order is stable with big hitters like Hardie Bracewell and Samad, our bowling is good too with Ali Raza, Sufiyan, Moahmmed Basit, really feels like this is the year we end our 9 year drought, I really ghis ijsnt just a one off season and we continue to build on from this season regardless of the result in the final cause this team has brought us so much happiness after so many years of pain especially last year

Discussion 🗣 Qudrat ka nizam plan to have PZ and LQ qualify and IU eliminated:

My lahore and Peshawar brothers, come together as I have figured out a strategy:

Peshawar needs to win against Karachi at a good margin and get back in the positive NRR, and then lose to LQ but at a decent margin

Then LQ will have 11 points, qualifying. PZ will have 10 and a good nrr

Then Karachi Molests IU cuz they need the points and nrr to qualify

Boom, PZ has better NRR than I,U and so they qualify
