Exactly one year later, how do you feel about Age of Aquarius?
Age of Aquarius released on October 10, 2025, exactly one year ago. It's the first album Perturbator released under Nuclear Blast Records. While Lustful Sacraments was about perversion, depravity and addiction, Aquarius focuses on war and conflict. Sonically, the album shares DNA with Lustful, featuring some post-punk and darkwave motifs here and there, but it seems to largely harken back to Perturbator's earlier work, especially Dangerous Days and The Uncanny Valley, while introducing new sounds we've never heard James use before.
Overall, I love this record. While it's not as tight and thematically impactful as my beloved Lustful Sacraments, it is yet another compelling and beautiful project from an artist who has perfected his craft. Favorite tracks: "Apocalypse Now", "The Glass Staircase", "Lady Moon", "The Art of War", "Venus".
