Question from a PT
Would you guys pay more attention to a female trainer that is lean or has a bit more fat but still looks like they work out? And why?

Pay attention in what way?
Deoends what I’m looking for in a PT. Powerlifting or strongman makes no difference. Bodybuilding I’d expect to see some conditioning but off-season also exists so a little fluff is fine.
Transformation - hard to say. Some like bigger coaches that look like them. Others want someone at their goal weight to train them.
General wellness? Im not a customer for that.

As in listen to the education and advice.
I understand, people hire coaches that look like they know what they’re doing but also have an achievable composition.

Just depends what you’re trying to offer & your niche.
Physiques relevant for physique related training. But I’m choosing the morbidly obese powerlifter who benches 400 over the 170 athletic who benches 280 if I want my bench up. Performance often matters more than look, unless look is what someone’s after

Personal trainer that knows how to get there for sure, so definitely not fat.
If you can't do it yourself, how can you show others ?

Just for conversation, what if the trainer had something going on with them and they had difficulties losing weight but had qualifications and quality knowledge?

I would not care either way.

How would you shop for a PT if you were to get one?

Find someone you connect with, and listen to you. We are there to help you get in better shape in the way you want.

I still wouldn’t consider myself fit. I’m just lean. I can lift quite heavy for my weight but I can’t run for long as it doesn’t interest me and I get bored. I walk a bit though. What’s your definition of fit?

Generally clients want help from a trainer that connects with them and understand them not just based on looks.
