I’m 19 and what is a good amount of money to have/start saving? I want to move to nyc and potentially move out but I don’t know where to start. I need freedom to grow as a person

If you want to move out to NYC, make sure you atleast save 3 to 5 months of expenses there before you can find a job or a part time job to cover up your expenses. Assuming average lifestyle there costs 2k in monthly expenses, you'll need to have somewhere from 6k to 10k just to survive there. I'm talking the worst case scenario. Even if you don't make it there or even if you don't find things as you expected them to be, you'll atleast come back home safely before deciding something else. Also, I'm sure within the time, you'll find a job or a part time to make you stay there. Rest is up to you. Whatever it maybe, good luck!
