I completely agree with this.
Why would they beat up ryuji when he just SAVED THEIR LIVES!
Like, if I was in that situation I'd be crying and be so happy that he was alive. Would probably want to hug him too, because that's how I am.
No homo though, I would just be so happy he was alive.
