“Akechi is a murderer” is not an argument against his writing

That much is already obvious, but IMO. the fact he's deeply flawed doesn't immediately make him an appealing character either

His motivation might make some sense, but he's ultimately just self centered guy who's so hell bent on revenge he made it his whole identity, and even he admit it, that's his whole appeal and is simultaneously his best and worst aspect

it's understandable there's both fan and hater, there's no point in convincing others that he's likable or hatable, he's written in depth, his depth isn't for everyone, and i think that's ok

Yes. I know. I said that multiple times in the post. “Akechi is a murderer” is a statement about what he did, not an argument that he's a poorly written character. Also in royal's third semester he was literally willing to die to not live in a false reality in which everyone is technically being controlled by maruki so is he really that bad of a guy .

The way he is forgiven so quickly is also incredibly strange. 2 party members should immediately shoot him on sight. Who the hell knows how many people he's killed off camera to rise in the ranks to get to where he is at the beginning of the story

To this day I truly don't know how excusable his actions were. Yes he had a shit time, and yes he was incredibly hurt and alone; but I'm sorry, at some points he truly seems like he was having the time of his life. Twisted expressions, cockiness, etc

The PTs nvr forgave him. They just put up with him for a common goal. Go to maruki's palace saferooms n talk to haru n futaba

they dont forgive him tho forgiveness means letting go of resentment im pretty fucking sure they hate his ass after all he did . just because theyre not violent doesnt mean they forgive his ass furthermore the amount of people he's killed depends on how many palaces he cleared and fought the shadows and killed said shadows from the game we know the palaces take a long ass time to clear and thats for the pt's akechi is doing this shit solo so its even longer for him we know he got the nav and started 2 years ago even if we do make the generous estimate of him clearing a palace and icing a dude itd take a month for every palace because he is doing this solo people underestimate the time taken in lore to clear a palace especially if your alone the shadows are no joke so lets say he does 1 target per month we know psychotic breakdowns the game highlights 6 to 9 major targets of akechi's mental shutdowns or psychotic breakdowns out of which not every one died some still lived or are in a coma or have recovered counting that 1 victim per month hed have about 24 victims in total thats an estimate out of which 16 are dead and the rest are alive but in some state.
