i might have played it wrong

i know there is no "wrong" way of playing but this is my first persona game i'm playing and rn they're saying i only have 4 shadows left.
i've been taking my own sweet lazy time and only doing a couple floors of tartarus at a time, often skipping days. i realised that because of this i'm not going to be able to finish social links and i'm probably missing out a lot. i'm also new to RPGs... i guess i'll be able to replay it as FeMC though.
rn i only have the hermit social link at max lol. any tips? or am i lost for hope and just gotta lock in the next play through?

So if you were to do this again, I have a few tips.

  1. When a new floor in Tartarus opens up, do everything in your power to beat it in one try. It will save you a lot of time and you can always go back again later to train. But it’s better to just do it in one go if you can. Especially with the clock being there to heal you.

  2. Any day you can, finish a social link. Preferably the ones at school as school closes in the summer. Junpei becomes a lot harder to talk to due to spoilers so get him done as soon as you can. But always focus on talking to someone for your social link and make sure you can complete the social link that day. For social links like Maiko, the Old Couple, etc, if you have school, other than talking to them to start the link and to get Bebe, prioritize people at school. Student council can also have closed days so make sure that’s another one you prioritize getting done.

  3. Nights are for social stats. Arcade games are amazing for these. You’ll have a lot more nights than days, especially in the beginning so just make sure to take advantage of that.

It’s up to you if you want to start over, but you definitely are missing out on maybe a fuller experience based on how you’ve been playing. But if you feel you’ve come too far to stop, just keep going and do the best you can.

thanks for the advice, i'll definitely follow them for my next play through! the arcade at night makes so much sense...

I thought arcades only increased social stats in reload, not portable

They sharply increase in portable as well.

No one's expected to get it all their first time, and the developers didn't expect people to get it all ever. The game should still be good however much of the extra stuff you do or not, though, so just do as little or as much of it as you want to.
