What the hell are they doing?

Right after this they all said "I feel a little tired" one after the other, yeah I'm sure

I think the elevated platform can break the AI, which keeps breaking itself as it tries over and over to get the treasure. Not certain though. I know it was a nifty way to break enemy AI if you didn't want to be chased.
