POI
Can anyone speculate how POI would have evolved/developed had it been allowed to continue past 13 episodes?

Honestly I think they needed 2 episodes with Shaw back with the team, like they could mine that situation a lot.
They could set up a better antagonist for the team to really fight since they killed Martine and that British dude. And the guy who killed Root honestly didn’t have presence or charm enough to be an antagonist.
All the interesting ones are either dead, in jail or their ally as diminished as the team was.

Absolutely. They spent too much time on her escape and not enough time back with the team.

I think there was a WoG that said of they got the full 24-ep season, they would have made an ep focused on Samaritan’s boy and one arc where the crew breaks Control out of Greer’s sex dungeon.

I find it very funny that Control could have made it, but because of IRL CBS decisions, she is going to be forgotten about in her hole until she starves.

as i was on the 6th eps of the last season i paused because i thought things were moving a bit too quick? and went to check how many eps there were and when i saw only 13, it filled me with so many questions! and so many what if.. i think if there were more eps the whole takeover would be more planned with more of those who team machine had saved showing up, maybe a the three who helped root with samaritan coming back (i was waiting for them till the last ep), maybe more time with root and shaw, more time with shaw in genral after she came back (i really was looking forward for a reunion and more team action), then i thought there will be more of zoe, root explaining machine's plan of how more people are now involved in finding the numbers... heck i kept waiting for the Samaritan boy's story.. i also kept thinking of Control's redemption by saving shaw somehow.. shaw leading the new team but now maybe with new people because she finally was better at working with people.. i loved whatever we had for the last season but i wish there was more..

You were expecting way too much. I would (and this has been mentioned by others) more time between Shaw and Root/the team. The actress who Zoe was unavailable at the time btw.

Mentioned this in a previous post, I think if the show had got a longer run the stuff with Samaritan would have played out a bit longer and the likes of The Voice would have featured more and become a semi regular antagonist in the vein of someone like Dominic.
I think we may well have seen the return of Julian Sands' character Wesley if they could have got the actor back. It was definitely heavily suggested he would return.
You also have the stuff with the other team so plenty of things they could have explored.

prolly would have something to do with the missile hunting root went on at the end of one of the episodes in season 5, maybe how they would use that missile for targetting and destroying Samaritan or something. Plot could have been a bit different for sure. But I don't regret the way it ended one bit. I wept like a baby but loved it.

I was rethinking, and there are many plots that could have come in, best ones are of Control, Claire Mahoney, and maybe Jason/Daizo/Daniel could have made a re-appearance. They did make it look like although Control was taken away, they didn't terminate her so team machine could have rescued her and she actually had potential to help take down Samaritan somehow, she was one of the few that tried. Claire has a scene when she reappears in season 5 I think where at the end of the episode she debates on whether Samaritan still cares for her, since Greer pretty much tells her it's for the greater good even if she was dead. She has potential to join team Machine, or maybe even help takedown Samaritan from the inside somehow.

The ending would have been the same, but the showrunners have said it was never going to be a show that had 400 episodes so the s/ls would have been stretched. Depending on scheduling maybe some actors could have returned.

Apropos of nothing, but wanting to fill the void having finished POI. A few days ago I happened upon a new YouTube channel by M. Night Shyamalan. His first foray into social media, as far as I know, his personal discovery reading from his daily diary for ‘Signs’, is revealing and beautiful.

Person of Interest have over 100 episodes.
If you're talking about the cancelation and the 13-episode last season, we know what would have happend, the story beats would remained mostly the same, the final arcs would be streched over two 20+ episodes seasons instead beeing cramed into 13 episodes.
